Pars Community Provides 200 Food Packages for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Liverpool

Pars Community has successfully completed another community food distribution, providing homemade Iranian hot meals, fruit, salad and drinks to refugees, asylum seekers and families living in temporary accommodation across Liverpool.

As part of our ongoing Refugee Support Programme, Pars Community recently prepared and distributed approximately 200 food and refreshment packages to refugees, asylum seekers and other people in need across Liverpool.

The packages were carefully prepared with the support of our dedicated community members and volunteers. Each package included fresh homemade Iranian-style hot food, fruit, salad and drinks, providing recipients with a nutritious and comforting meal. Volunteers generously gave their time to help prepare the food, organise and package the refreshments, and transport everything to the accommodation centres.

The food was delivered to different refugee and asylum seeker hostels and temporary accommodation across Liverpool, including the Main asylum hostel, where many newly arrived individuals and families are currently staying while awaiting more permanent arrangements.

For many asylum seekers and newly arrived refugees, the first months in the UK can be particularly challenging. Some are living in temporary accommodation while their applications or immigration status are being processed, and their opportunities to work and support themselves financially may be limited. Alongside these practical difficulties, adapting to a new country, language and community can also be an isolating experience.

For Pars Community, this initiative is therefore about much more than simply providing food. A freshly prepared meal and a thoughtfully packed selection of refreshments can also represent welcome, dignity, kindness and solidarity. We want newcomers to know that there are people within their local community who care about their wellbeing and are ready to offer support during a difficult period of their lives.

Supporting refugees, asylum seekers, new arrivals and vulnerable families has remained an important part of Pars Community's work over the years. Our food distributions form part of a wider programme of community support alongside English language education, skills development, health and wellbeing activities, cultural programmes, social events and opportunities that help people integrate and participate in their local community.

We are particularly proud that this latest distribution enabled us to reach around 200 individuals and families across Liverpool. Achievements like this are only possible because of the generosity and commitment of our volunteers, donors, supporters and community members who contribute their time, resources and energy.

Pars Community believes that everyone deserves to be treated with compassion and respect, regardless of nationality, background or immigration circumstances. Our community includes people from many different cultures and walks of life, and we remain committed to creating an environment where refugees, asylum seekers and newcomers to the UK can feel welcomed, valued and supported.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who prepared the food, packed the meals and refreshments, helped with transportation and distribution, donated resources, or supported the initiative in any other way. Every contribution helped make this food distribution possible.

We are proud to have completed another successful community support activity and look forward to continuing our regular work for refugees, asylum seekers, newcomers and families in need across Liverpool.

Together, through kindness, volunteering and community spirit, even a simple meal can make a meaningful difference.
